    The Balver Mammoth

Balve is famous for its mammoths, which are an affectionate symbol of the town. Images of these gentle giants can be found all over Balve, reminding us of their past here. The Balver Höhle, where mammoths lived a long time ago, is particularly exciting. One of the world's largest mammoth tusks has even been found there! These finds show how closely the history of Balve is linked to these wonderful animals.
