We cordially invite you to take part in our exciting Home Selfie Tour! This special tour will take you to five selected locations in our beautiful town of Balve. You will have the opportunity to unleash your creativity and win great prizes at the same time.

How does the Heimat Selfie Tour work?

It's simple: if you like hiking, walking or cycling, this tour is just right for you. Visit the locations listed below and take a selfie at five of the six places. You can send us these five selfies either by email(innenstadtbüro@balve.de) or directly via Instagram. At the end of the year, we will raffle off an attractive prize among all participants.

Please note that by submitting your pictures, you agree that we may publish them on our website Visitbalve.de and on our Instagram page.

Balver Cave

The Balver Höhle is one of the most important cultural monuments in the region and the largest open cultural cave in Europe. Museum Luisenhütte

The Luisenhütte in Wocklum is the oldest fully preserved ironworks in Germany and a fascinating testimony to the industrial revolution. Ebberg observation tower

The sliding cross

Discover the Schiebergkreuz vantage point, which offers a breathtaking view of the town of Balve and the surrounding countryside. This place invites you to leave everyday life behind and enjoy the harmonious combination of beautiful nature and a great view of the town.

The path to the Schiebergkreuz starts on the main road and takes you past the impressive parish church of St. Blasius. You then enter a mixed deciduous forest, which exudes its very own charm at any time of year.

7 virgins

The "7 Virgins" are a striking rock formation that rises on a mountain ridge in the Sauerland region and is deeply rooted in the legends and myths of the region. The name of this impressive natural formation goes back to an old legend that tells of seven virgins who froze to stone out of fear of approaching enemies. The rocks rise into the sky like protective towers and can be seen from afar, giving them an almost mystical presence.
