The street "Dechant-Amecke-Weg" in Balve was named after him.

Wilhelm Boeddicker

Pastor and dean in Balve: 1933 - 1958

Honorary citizenship: Council resolution on April 22, 1958

Led his parish with wisdom and courage through the years of the Third Reich.

During his time in office: erection of the first Schieberg cross, renewal of the Way of the Cross over the Husenberg, decoration of the interior of the parish church, successful negotiations for the preservation of St. Mary's Hospital.

The "Dechant-Boeddicker Weg " in the Gehringer Schlade development area was named after him by council resolution on 17.11.1999.

Theodor Pröpper

He was honored for outstanding work in the fields of amateur dramatics, local history, poetry, local songs and for his work in the local self-government of the town of Balve.

Founder of the Balver Heimwacht, co-founder of the Balver Höhlenspiele and the Sauerland Heimatbund.

The "Theodor-Pröpper-Weg" was named after him in the Gehringer Schlade development area by council resolution on 17.11.1999.

Josef Pütter

Rentmaster of the Balve office until 1955, rendant of the Catholic parish of St. Blasius 1930 - 1960.

Born on June 13, 1890, died on August 31, 1982.

Honorary citizenship: Council resolution on June 13, 1964

He was honored for decades of archival research into the history of the Sauerland region, in particular the town of Balve and the municipalities of the Balve district.

He also rendered outstanding services as a local poet, local historian, author of historical publications and co-founder and long-standing director of the Balve Museum.

The "Josef-Pütter-Straße " in Balve was named after him in 1986.

Dieter Graf von Landsberg-Velen

Holder of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany as well as the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany with Star, the Grand Cross of the Papal Order of St. Gregory and other national and international awards.

Born on December 17, 1925 in Balve. Died on 15.04.2012.

Honorary citizenship: Council resolution on December 16, 2000

He was honored for his involvement in national and international sports associations, especially equestrian sports associations, and as President of the Malteser Hilfsdienst Germany, which had a highly positive impact on his home town of Balve.

He was also honored for his many years of political work in municipal committees.
