Balve 2024 Homeland Prize: focus on local commitment

Under the motto "Home. Future. North Rhine-Westphalia - We promote what connects people." the state of North Rhine-Westphalia launched the funding project in 2019. As part of this program, the awarding of the "Heimat Prize" has become firmly established.

This year, the town of Balve is once again recognizing outstanding commitment and exemplary projects in the area of homeland by awarding the "Homeland Prize".

Thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Homeland, Municipal Affairs, Building and Equality of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, prize money of €5,000 is once again available.

We are looking for projects that make a particular contribution to strengthening a sense of home and identity with the city, promote social cohesion or create incentives to bring home to life and discover and appreciate local and regional characteristics.

The projects submitted must be generally accessible, future-oriented, sustainable and feasible in the urban area.

A six-member jury, consisting of five council members and one member of the administration, will decide on the award. The award will be presented as part of the "Honoring deserving citizens" ceremony on 6 September 2024.

Interested parties can apply via the online application form at www.balve.de. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2024.
