An old lady, a castle in Wales, a rebel with a dark past: this is the plot of the novel "Spring Secrets", which bestselling author Indra Janorschke will be presenting at the library on March 7. The "Book & Enjoyment" series once again promises the best entertainment with finger food and a cozy atmosphere. Indra Janorschke is known to many under the pseudonym Felicity Whitmore ("The Women of Hampton Hall"). Tickets are only available online via balve.de (Event-Ticketshop) at a price of 13 euros, the additional two euro service fee is waived if the tickets are printed out at the city center office. Admission is at 7 p.m., the performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

Four seasons, four sisters: Indra Janorschke is presenting a series of four volumes under her new pseudonym Anna Helford this year. They are somewhat reminiscent of the successful "Seven Sisters" series - here, too, the focus is on different, courageous and clever sisters. The first volume tells the story of the rebel Spring, who is named after the spring and is just as energetic in breaking up entrenched structures, with fine characterization and local sounds from Wales. However, she does this so thoroughly that she ends up in bad company after her escapade to London and is sentenced to community service. She does this with 80-year-old Sophia Fowler. Contrary to expectations, Spring grows fond of the stern old lady and the two different women strike up a conversation. Spring learns that Miss Fowler was once the lady of the castle in Wales. The castle and her son seem familiar to Spring, and so the women set off on a journey to Wales and into the heart of the past with all its secrets.

If some of the motifs seem familiar, you're right: Indra Janorschke has already received a great response under the name Felicity Whitmore with her mixture of family history, suspense and history. The series "The Women of Hampton Hall" about the secrets of old houses became a bestseller. Indra Janorschke loves history and stories, and as theater director of the Theater an der Volme, actress and director, she lives for art and not just for literature. The "Spring Secrets" will not be published until mid-February, and the event in Balve is one of the first readings in the promising series in the region.
